Maruska loves animals and wants to help keep the Aruban donkeys alive. Chocolat, who was featured in an article in the papers, is her adopted son.
Rochaira de Cuba, one of our volunteers at Bringamosa, and her mother Francisca wanted to help us in more ways than just working at the sanctuary and picked two donkeys at Bringamosa to adopt. Rochaira chose Blanco and Francisca chose Tiny, a donkey who had a viral infection and possibly had an owner at one time. Our volunteers help us in so many more ways than just working and loving the donkeys.

Hans Kroes & Mirabell Awater adopted Aramis because he has this silly nervous tic. They always wanted to have a donkey. At this moment in time they prefer to take care of one of our donkeys above having the real responsibility of a actual donkey. For their donkey-fix they can go and pet the neighbors donkey in the Netherlands.

Nelleke & Maarten Vermeule adopted Sgt Pepper since 2016, the year that he came to live with us. Since Sgt Pepper recently passed away and Nelleke and Maarten since a long time are back on the Island they were able to pick out a new donkey to adopt. Our new donkey Pluto! He is still shy however that gives us a different picture. Nice for a change.
elleke & Maarten Vermeule are coming to the sanctuary for 2 years now. They wanted to adopt a donkey. The choice wasn't difficult, although they can choose from 125 donkeys on sight. They choose our new donkey from Curacao. His name is Sergeant Pepper.

The Dirkse Family from the Netherlands see no other way than to adopt Brad Pitt so that they can be in the picture with him. They volunteer at home as well.
Take Route 4a from the hotels and follow this road for 14 km, pass all the circles/roundabouts until you see a sign for the French Men’s Pass. Make a left turn onto the French Men’s Pass, then 1st left, 2nd right. On that dirt road you will find the Donkey Sanctuary after about 200 meters.
If you have a GPS device, navigate to these coordinates:  N 12°48.974’  W 069°96.642’  This will bring you to the entrance of the Donkey Sanctuary.
