Making funny faces worked pretty well for Keto. Jennifer Surprise thought it was a good reason to adopt him. Some years ago Keto fell into a ditch made for a sceptic tank. The fire department had to lift him up with a crane to get him out. Afterwards he was very quiet, hence his name is Keto which is quiet in Papiamento.
Tammy Englund fell in love with Kamino, our 3 legged donkey. She adopted him for a year.
Nan Ward, from Pennsylvania, has been visiting the Sanctuary many times.
In 2007 she adopted Cowboy, the donkey who had an air filter around his leg. Nan loves Cowboy a lot and continues her adoption every year.
Kate Watson wanted to adopt a donkey that's not being adopted very often. Luckily Ramon was at the fence. Ramon is with us since 1999 he was always best friends with Browney who passed from old age a few years ago.
Jennifer Zimmerman comes and volunteers every time she is on the Island. Last year she adopted Chocolat and this year she fell for Nebula, so friendly and the first new baby I saw here, is what she said!
Jennifer Zimmerman picked Chocolat to adopt. He greeted her at the entrance the first day she volunteered with us. Jennifer lives on Aruba for a few months at the time and this time she wanted to do something! Do you want to volunteer with us as well? Just send an email or message to Desiree. Thank you Jennifer!
Take Route 4a from the hotels and follow this road for 14 km, pass all the circles/roundabouts until you see a sign for the French Men’s Pass. Make a left turn onto the French Men’s Pass, then 1st left, 2nd right. On that dirt road you will find the Donkey Sanctuary after about 200 meters.
If you have a GPS device, navigate to these coordinates:  N 12°48.974’  W 069°96.642’  This will bring you to the entrance of the Donkey Sanctuary.
