The Pappalardo Family adopted Buri because the donkeys are cute and gentle, they live in a good environment. Buri came to live with us many years ago. We could release him from a can from one of his hind hooves. He also had a big wound on the butt. We were very glad we could help him.
Karen van Dyke adopted Crooked Ear a.k.a. Kromoor in memory of her husband David van Dyke. Karen and her husband visited the sanctuary many years ago and never forgot about us.
Rick Chance surprises his wife Maryjane Chance today with the adoption of our Sunday Dream. Isn't this a lovely Christmas present? Maryjane and Rick visited us last September for their anniversary and the idea was born. Sunday Dream was born as a total surprise to Sassy, one of our very first donkeys on Sunday March 30, 2008.
Alice & Mo Belarrem adopted Waiter. They love what we do and want to help us! Waiter came with us with a broken hip, which he rests on a rock or a step. Otherwise you can hardly see that he has a problem in the back. He uses the leg when he walks
Brianna Richardson & Mark Berns visited us last week. Today they came back to adopt a donkey. They were very much charmed by Kroket, the donkey that sticks out his tongue. Brianna rides horses and had to visit us. We did have a hard time getting Kroket involved in the picture for our social media. He was still having breakfast and didn't want to be interrupted.
Take Route 4a from the hotels and follow this road for 14 km, pass all the circles/roundabouts until you see a sign for the French Men’s Pass. Make a left turn onto the French Men’s Pass, then 1st left, 2nd right. On that dirt road you will find the Donkey Sanctuary after about 200 meters.
If you have a GPS device, navigate to these coordinates:  N 12°48.974’  W 069°96.642’  This will bring you to the entrance of the Donkey Sanctuary.
