Valorie Berta also adopted Kroket & Baccha, because they are in Donkey Heaven. In the pictures Valorie with Kroket and her daughter Mandy with Baccha. Baccha was born at the sanctuary after her mom Maud was roaming the streets. Maud and Tico were fostered, however they jumped the fence and walked on the streets for 8 months before they showed up in front of Desiree's house. a few months later Maud gave birth and little Baccha was born. This was in 2005. Kroket is with us since long, came in as a baby with a nasty shoulder injury. Lucky the stitches held! We cannot find a scar anymore!
Gene & Mia Skowronski adopted Ramon, they say:"The Sanctuary is part of our vacation for the last 20-ish years.
We LOVE it!".
Ramon is living in the sanctuary since 1999. He is named after one of the founders of the sanctuary.
Deanna Spivy adopted Thistle because his tongue hangs out and he is the sweetest. Thistle is with us for many years, it was very easy to put on a halter and walk him to the sanctuary. We were looking for 1 donkey, who was wandering around in the neighborhood of the sanctuary. We got a phone call from our neighbors who said there were 2 (2?) donkeys next to her house. There were Thistle and Espresso. They just walked with us down the hill. We were looking for one and got two. The other missing donkey came back a few days later as well.
Lourdes Tromp adopted Tutu back in 2004 (yes 20 years already) for her brother Eddy. Eddy passed away some years ago, however Lourdes continued to support us. Tutu is doing fine, she is best friends with George and one of our smallest donkeys. Thank you Lourdes for being such a loyal supporter.
Melody Gamba adopted Kidsy who is best friends with 7-UP. Melody says: "I love the Donkey Sanctuary Aruba - Grateful to be able to support their mission! Hugging a donkey is the best and can I adopt them all? Thanks Kidsy for chosing me!"
Take Route 4a from the hotels and follow this road for 14 km, pass all the circles/roundabouts until you see a sign for the French Men’s Pass. Make a left turn onto the French Men’s Pass, then 1st left, 2nd right. On that dirt road you will find the Donkey Sanctuary after about 200 meters.
