Katoen was adopted by a very nice lady who wants to be called Mom on our socials. Katoen, Dutch for Cotton, is with us for many years. A little bit shy and always in the back ground.
Karen Hubacz adopted Kamino, our 3 legged donkey. Kamino was hit by a car back in August 2019. After surgery the leg wasn't healed and it started to be infected. Not an easy choice but we decided to give him a 3rd change by amputation his leg. He is doing GREAT and is very sweet on top of that.
The Hutson Family adopted Xena who is people shy but has quite the story. She lost her baby while giving birth. Luckily we could save her, she is stronger than most.
Kim Rogers adopted Chocolat. He is one of our dominant donkeys. We used to say he is the leader of the whole pack. We are not sure about that anymore. He is getting older.... He jumped in at the previous sanctuary. It was easy to get in, harder to get out. He stayed for our beautiful female donkeys!
The Waymire Family adopted Cowboy, who is with us since 1999. He stepped in an air filter from a big truck and walked with that for a couple of weeks before we could help him. It took us a quite some time to cut it open. The skin was totally raw however it was superficial and healed very quickly. @Rachel Waymire
Take Route 4a from the hotels and follow this road for 14 km, pass all the circles/roundabouts until you see a sign for the French Men’s Pass. Make a left turn onto the French Men’s Pass, then 1st left, 2nd right. On that dirt road you will find the Donkey Sanctuary after about 200 meters.
If you have a GPS device, navigate to these coordinates:  N 12°48.974’  W 069°96.642’  This will bring you to the entrance of the Donkey Sanctuary.
