Makayla Barnes choose Nariz to adopt because she likes to bite your shoes. Nariz is actually a very sweet donkey, who came to live with us after her baby died in a car accident many years ago. She was pregnant with Cookie, her daughter, at the time, so after many months (gestation is 11-14 months) she surprised us with the baby.
Rudy and Mary Conrad have enjoyed visiting the sanctuary and the work done here. Always a great experience. They adopted 7UP in the picture being hugged by Rudy!
Cynthia Murphy adopted Kroket because he looks like a Moose and I am obsessed with Moose she said while showing her Moose tattoo.
Jennifer Francis is giving love to Kamino all the way from West Virginia. Kamino is adopted many times, however he is not the only one that profits from it. All the donkeys get food and medical and daily care. It is just the donkey that appeals to you the most that counts in the adoption program.
Shayla Kelleher likes unique experiences when she travels. This is definitely a unique experience. Especially Thistle who sticks out his tongue. The adoption was quickly done!
Take Route 4a from the hotels and follow this road for 14 km, pass all the circles/roundabouts until you see a sign for the French Men’s Pass. Make a left turn onto the French Men’s Pass, then 1st left, 2nd right. On that dirt road you will find the Donkey Sanctuary after about 200 meters.
If you have a GPS device, navigate to these coordinates:  N 12°48.974’  W 069°96.642’  This will bring you to the entrance of the Donkey Sanctuary.
