Michele Botelho adopted Annie. Annie is with us since 2011. When we found her she was in labor for about 6 days. Sadly her baby was long dead. However Annie survived, she is a tough lady. Michele's daughter in law is also working in donkey rescue, she is very proud of her!
The Prinses Amalia Basisschool adopts Diva for the 10th year. The children all bring a few florins and Ms Maureen brings the money every year to us. The bag is getting heavier and heavier each year! Thank you from all of us!
The kids from the Prinses Amalia Basisschool from Oranjestad (Aruba) collected money to be able to adopt Diva. Diva visited their school for the world animal/donkey day beginning of October 2015. Since Diva doesn't live in one of the two sanctuaries we had to make an appointment to hand over their adoption money. Each grade had a representative.... Thank you kids! We LOVE what you did for us.
Victoria Thielen from class 1A, , represented all the children of the Prinses Amalia Basisschool when she brought the adoption money for another year for Diva (2019 - 2020) Thank you Prinses Amalia Basis School for another year of support!
Angelo Mazzara adopted Zumba. Zumba is with us since the summer of 2023 and is part of our preservation program. We want to create healthy donkeys on Aruba again. We are not sure Zumba is fertile though. We had 5 mares with him for 8 months and none of them became pregnant.
Bobbi Jo Clarke volunteered with us last October for a month and now she adopted Pearl for her birthday, which is today! Happy Birthday Bobbi Jo on behalf of all the volunteers and the donkeys as well.
Jesse Blom brought his girl friend Fleur de Graef to the sanctuary and left with a new fiancee. He bought her a ring and tied it around Diva's neck. It was a total surprise for Fleur to be proposed at the donkey sanctuary! oh and.... she said Yes!
To top it of, he adopted Diva for his mom Letty Nekeman. Everybody happy.... Jesse and Fleur, Letty, Diva and we :)
Letty Nekeman watched our little promotion movie and first thing she said: Give me another donkey to adopt! She already adopts Diva and now is adopting Gypsy, Diva's BFF as well. Top Letty, thank you...
Take Route 4a from the hotels and follow this road for 14 km, pass all the circles/roundabouts until you see a sign for the French Men’s Pass. Make a left turn onto the French Men’s Pass, then 1st left, 2nd right. On that dirt road you will find the Donkey Sanctuary after about 200 meters.
If you have a GPS device, navigate to these coordinates:  N 12°48.974’  W 069°96.642’  This will bring you to the entrance of the Donkey Sanctuary.
