In 2003 Sandy Wiegand was working in the oil industry. For 4 months she was working at a site where the was a lone donkey who she bonded with. She cried big tears when she had to leave him behind. His owner didn't want to sell him to her otherwise she would have brought him home. Instead 22 years later she adopted Igor one of our elderly donkeys. Igor is a sweetheart as well.
Take Route 4a from the hotels and follow this road for 14 km, pass all the circles/roundabouts until you see a sign for the French Men’s Pass. Make a left turn onto the French Men’s Pass, then 1st left, 2nd right. On that dirt road you will find the Donkey Sanctuary after about 200 meters.
